Highlights:
The IT Unit assessed all of the equipment currently deployed in the server room
in 2019. Plans were put in place to move the current email system to Microsoft
Exchange Government Cloud, this will be done in conjunction with moving the
department to Microsoft Office 365. This will allow employees access to the most
current version of Microsoft’s Office Suite and provide OneDrive space for all
accounts to replace the system of onsite “H: Drives” that currently occupy space
on the department’s network server. This will allow us to free space for the records
management system and records storage.
The department participated in the SANS Cyber Security training and Tenable.IO
scans hosted by the Rhode Island State Police.
The FBI will be conducting a CJIS audit of the department in 2020 -2021.
