VIN Verification Station
Things to Know
If you have purchased a vehicle with a title from another state, or if you have a car that was previously registered in another state, you must have the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on your paperwork checked against the actual VIN on your vehicle to make sure the two numbers match.
The Cranston Police Department has a VIN verification station conveniently located at 900 Phenix Avenue in Cranston, less than 3 miles from the Rhode Island Department of Motor Vehicles Registry.
The VIN station is open Monday – Friday from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm.
There is a $20.00 fee that MUST be paid by check or money order ONLY.
