               SWITCHBOARD OPERATOR


                                                                            The    switchboard      operator
                                                                            remains  a  full-time  position,

                                                                            and  it  is  currently  staffed
                                                                            Monday       through      Friday

                                                                            between the hours of 8:30 am
                                                                            to  4:30  pm.  The  switchboard
                                                                            operator’s       responsibilities

                                                                            include    the   efficient   and
                                                                            proper     operation    of    the

               switchboard,  proper  routing  of  calls,  mail,  and  packages,  greeting  visitors  to
               headquarters, and accepting games of chance applications. The switchboard operator
               also assists Records personnel in retrieving reports and the IMC name merge project.

               The switchboard operator processed 11,081 calls to the police department in CY2021.
               Of  those  calls,  7,562  were  routine,  while  3,519  were  transferred  to  the

               Communications Center for additional attention.










               Throughout 2021, the Training Division continually adjusted its course offerings,
               schedules, and delivery methods due to the COVID pandemic.  Despite the adversity,

               the Training Division ensured that our officers were well-trained, certified, or re-
               certified in various topics and coordinated and implemented the recent recruitment

               and hiring process.
