The goal in 2021 was to keep the number of accidents that involve injuries as low as
possible and compare the 2021 number to 2019, as the Pandemic affected 2020’s
numbers. 2019 injuries = 750. 2021 injuries = 654. The total number of reported
injuries went down by 14% comparing 2021 to 2019 numbers.
The number of Hit and Run Accidents were reduced by 76 from 2019 to 2021. Even
though this number IS a reduction, the % is the same Approx 13.32%.
Goals
It is always the goal of the Cranston Police Department Traffic Division to continue to
perform professionally and provide the citizens of the City of Cranston with the highest
quality public service possible. We will continuously analyze traffic statistics and
citizens’ concerns to determine areas that require targeted traffic enforcement
accurately and, when needed, interject with suggestions concerning potentially
dangerous roadway designs. This enforcement will continue to occur in the form of
