Traffic Year to Year Statistics

The following year-to-year review contains numerous accident-related statistics

comparing 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021. The purpose of the information

contained in this report is to review and evaluate possible trends so that the traffic

unit can focus our attention through continued targeted traffic enforcement and

community education in the areas that need it most. A review of this information will

also allow for the formulation of future targeted enforcement deployment strategies by

the identification of the time(s), day(s), and location(s) where the City of Cranston

experiences the most crashes. The desired outcome is that the Cranston Police

Department will reduce collisions throughout the city and prevent the loss of property

and, more importantly, the loss of life in 2021.
