The unit was also responsible for following up on initial reports taken by the
Uniform Division dealing with not only sexually based offenses, but also
vandalism, family offenses, and runaways.

The unit conducted 794 activities that directly related to the maintenance and
supervision of the Sex Offender Registry for the City of Cranston. During 2019,
Detective Karen DiSano, of the Special Victims Unit, initiated 83 sex offender
community notifications for level two and three offenders as required by law. The
chart below shows the other activities related to the maintenance of this registry,
including the 149 checks that were conducted to ensure compliance with the
offender registry requirements.
