Additional activities in the year 2022 by the BCI Unit included:
• 433 pieces of narcotics were stored in the BCI drug room) arrangements
are being made to destroy these drugs).
• 22 vehicles were processed. Fingerprints were developed on 6 of those
vehicles. Blood evidence was obtained from 1 of those vehicles.
• 26 pieces of evidence were processed for latent prints. Latent prints
were developed on 12 of those pieces of evidence.
• 108 firearms were processed.
• 15 bullets and casings were sent to the R.I. State Crime lab for NIBIN
entry. Several NIBIN hits were obtained of those submitted.
• $151,456.00 in currency was seized and submitted into the Currency
Room.
• $580.00 in counterfeit money was seized and stored in the currency
room.
• 43 pieces of DNA evidence was submitted to the R.I. Health Dept. for
testing.
• 8 Cell phones were forensically examined.
• 274 Prosecution requests were handled.
• 240 cases involving narcotics were submitted to the Rhode Island DOH for
testing.
• 15 Background checks were conducted.
