A private donor generously provided seed funding for C.A.L.I. to the Aubin Center at
Hasbro Children’s Hospital. Yearly food, grooming, and veterinary services costs are
split between the Cranston Police Department and Hasbro Children’s Hospital.
SVU took over alcohol/tobacco compliance checks throughout City of Cranston in
December 2021. The Department of Behavioral Healthcare funds this, Developmental
Disabilities and Hospitals; as well as the Cranston Comprehensive Community Action
Program (CCAP). Operations in 2022 were markedly increased (approximately 200%)
over 2021. Their enforcement efforts resulted in the following:
o Alcohol Compliance Checks: 30 Completed/16 Warnings given/ 2
arrests.
o Tobacco Compliance Checks: 100 Completed/27 Citations given/ 1
suspension.
