• A fugitive case tracking investigation was initiated following the issuance of
an Affidavit/Arrest Warrant by the Cranston Police Department for Felony
Fraud following an incident at Tasca Ford in Cranston, RI. For James
Lacera Jr., Local surveillance, interviews, and Fugitive Recovery operations
were conducted along with a collateral package prepared for the out-of-state
pursuit. Extradition was petitioned for and granted as additional
information was developed by identifying a confidential Source in Florida.
Following the collateral package being sent to Florida, Fugitive Recovery
Operations were conducted, which were unsuccessful. However, information
confirmed his presence at the developed address and revealed he was using
the identity of another likely victim working landscaping. Lacera Jr. later
went to Rhode Island Superior Court to turn himself in on the matter.
• During the tour of duty in 2021, RIVFTF effected the arrest of Six (6)
homicide suspects, Two (2) kidnapping suspects, Twenty Six (26) Weapons
Possession and Robbery suspects, with Eight (8) Firearms seized. Additional
assistance to HIDTA, FBI, U.S. Postal Inspectors, and Out of State U.S.
Marshals Units and Law Enforcement Entities.
The Inspectional Services Division (ISD) comprises the Inspectional Services,
Accreditation Unit, Training Unit, Records Unit, National Incident-Based Reporting
System (NIBRS) / Transcription Unit, Finance Clerk, Detail Clerk, and Switchboard
Operator.
