• Search Warrants Executed: 17
• The Cranston Police Department SIU submitted twenty State forfeiture
packages to the Attorney General’s Office in 2021. Included in those
forfeitures is $100,291.00 in cash, three vehicles, several items of gold, and
multiple items of electronic equipment. Thirteen of the twenty submitted
cases from 2021 are still pending at the Attorney General’s Office. The
seven that were successfully forfeited resulted in $13,775.30 in cash being
transferred to the city and one of the vehicles. The department received
additional transfers of $39,340.46 in cash and an additional vehicle from
the RIAG in 2021 related to previously submitted forfeitures.
Federal Forfeiture Statistics:
• $12,636.31 was shared with CPD through the Federal Forfeiture Equitable
Sharing Program in 2021, with several cases still pending sharing decisions.
FBI Safe Streets Task Force Activity for 2021
Throughout 2021 the FBI SSTF was involved in several extensive, long-
term investigations, including a TIII electronic wiretap initiated by the Cranston
Police Department. These and other cases resulted in the following statistics for
the year.
FBI SSTF 2021 Year End Statistics:
Eighty-six SSTF led video recorded buys resulted in the seizure of:
• 240 g crack cocaine
• 1800 g cocaine
